Prayer, Jesus' Name, in the Name of Jesus, John 14:13-14Abstract
Christianity cannot be separated from prayer because God desires a relationship with His people through prayer. The Lord Jesus Himself also taught His disciples to pray in His name. There are still misconceptions about praying in Jesus' name for Christians. This article aims to explain the theological meaning of the expression praying in the name of the Lord Jesus so that its delivery in prayer does not become a ritual sentence devoid of meaning. Through a qualitative research method with a historical-grammatical approach, this study managed to get some theological thoughts that praying in the name of the Lord Jesus is God's call for believers to pray with the authority of the Lord Jesus, according to the character of Jesus, according to the will of God, and to glorify God. In conclusion, praying in the name of Jesus is not a mantra because praying is not about words, but meaning.
