Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi penerapan nilai-nilai keramahan dalam konteks interreligius Islam dan Kristen di Sedayu Grobogan serta dampaknya terhadap hubungan antaragama. Dalam masyarakat pedesaan Jawa, keramahan direpresentasikan melalui mesem atau tersenyum dan aruh yaitu salam atau sapaan, yang mencerminkan sikap menghormati dan unggah-ungguh. Teori hospitality yang dikemukakan oleh Christine D. Pohl menjadi landasan teoritis dalam penelitian ini, yang menekankan keramahan Kristen sebagai upaya perbaikan sosial dengan melawan stratifikasi sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif-kualitatif dengan metode autoetnografi observasi dan wawancara untuk mengumpulkan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hospitalitas  budaya Jawa yaitu mesem dan aruh berkontribusi signifikan dalam menciptakan hubungan harmonis antar agama, yang tercermin dalam partisipasi aktif umat Islam dalam perayaan Natal, serta penerimaan dan penghargaan dari umat Kristen. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa pentingnya keramahan dan keterbukaan dalam memelihara kerukunan dan menciptakan lingkungan sosial yang damai dan harmonis.
