Implikasi Teologis Pandangan Dunia Kristen Barat pada Gereja Timur Tengah melalui Penerjemahan Alkitab Smith-Van Dyck 1865

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali lebih jauh untuk menemukan implikasi teologis yang hadir dalam penerjemahan Alkitab berbahasa Arab Smith-Van Dyck 1865 untuk melihat ideologi dominan dalam pada aspek teologis Gereja Timur Tengah pasca penerjemahan Alkitab tersebut. Untuk itu, penulis menggunakan analisis praktik diskursif dan analisis praktik sosial dalam kerangka critical discourse analysis (CDA) Norman Fairclough dalam rangka menemukan relasi kuasa yang terjadi. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Dari penelitian di atas dapat terlihat bahwa penerjemahan Alkitab ini pada diawali dengan motivasi teologis. Namun dalam praktik diskursif yang ditemukan, ideologi Kristen Barat, khususnya dari gereja Protestan melalui lembaga misi mendistribusikan secara masif Alkitab ini dan secara tidak langsung mengonstruksi teologi dominan di kawasan ini. Berdasarkan hasil analisis praktik diskursif dan analisis praktik sosial, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hegemoni teologis dalam konteks situasional, insitusional, dan sosial.
